Bikewise 2014

When I got up on the morning of Bikewise 2014, the weather was bad with heavy rain. However, by the time the show opened the rain had cleared, for the most part we had a lovely sunny day which certainly brought in the crowds.

A big “thank you” to all of those who came to the DMA Stand at BikeWise for a chat and/or to enter our free prize draw. A special thanks to all those who put some money in the collecting tin for the Great North Air Ambulance which we had on the stand.

We had a great position in the retail hall next to our friends from ACE Motorcycles. This is very appropriate as our Durham office is just round the corner from ACE’s shop in Pity Me.

During the breaks in manning the stand I had an opportunity to wander around the event and it really was a great event with lost going on and loads of interesting things to see.

I particularly enjoyed a look at the classic bikes some of which I can remember when they were new and the latest thing. I hasten to add that this tends to be the bikes from the late 60’s and 70’s!

There were some interesting bikes as well on the club stands and great to see such a variety of clubs represented at the show.

I particularly liked seeing the collection of Yamaha RD 400’s which I certainly remember from when they were new. At the time I was a poor student and had a succession of old British bikes and could only dream of owning something that was reliable and didn’t leak oil!

This was my first visit to BikeWise and I hope that it continues as it is a great event. I understand that the venue is to change for next year but I’m sure it will still be just as good and I am looking forward to attending the event again.

Car and Bike Claims – Always looking to do more!

Here at DMA Law we are always looking for ways to do more to help our client’s.

We currently handle a large number of claims for client’s involved in accidents in cars and on motorcycles. Whilst a personal injury claim is one aspect of being involved in an accident often the first concern that our clients have is how to deal with the damage to their car or motorbike.

In an effort to provide the fullest possible service to our clients we have set up an accident management scheme to deal with the damage to our clients vehicles.

Very often the first thing that people do having been involved in an accident is to ring their own insurers even when the accident wasn’t their fault.

When the accident wasn’t your fault ringing your own insurers is not necessarily the best solution to dealing with the repairs to your vehicle.

Our accident management scheme enables us to arrange the repairs to your car or motorbike with the cost of the repair being recovered directly from the other parties insurers. This means that you will not have to pay the excess on your insurance as you would have to do if you went to your own insurers even when the accident wasn’t your fault.

As part of the scheme we can arrange for your car or motorbike to be taken away and assessed. The repairs can then be arranged for you and a replacement vehicle provided while your car or motorbike is being repaired.

The replacement vehicle will be of the same size and type as your own and not just the smallest type of car that is often provided by the repairers instructed by your own insurers.

We describe our accident management scheme as providing the three R’s:-

  • Recovery
  • Repair
  • Replacement

So that we can help you the most in the aftermath of an accident give DMA a call before your insurers on 0191 375 3938 and we’ll give you all the advice and assistance you need.

Being involved in an accident can not only be painful but can also be very inconvenient. We can’t take away the pain but we can certainly minimise the inconvenience for you!

Meet us at BikeWise Durham – 20th July 2014

If you are a regular reader of my blogs you will know that I have a passion for all things motorcycling. It is great to be in a position to be able to help my fellow motorcyclists who have unfortunately been involved in an accident.

We recently had a stand at the Armed forces Day in South Shields which despite the name was very much a biking event! It was a great day and a big thank you to all those who came to our stand for a chat and to enter our free prize draw.

The Bikewise event at Aykley Heads in Durham on the 20th July promises to be a great day devoted to motorcycling. We are again having a stand at the event with another free prize draw.

There will be lots of exciting things going on but spare a few minutes to visit the DMA stand and say hello.

I deal with accident claims but at DMA Law we do so much more so come along and find out about all our services.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible on Sunday.
